Boys State/ Nation

At Boys State / Nation, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. The training is objective and centers on the structure of city, county and state governments.

Scholarships

The American Legion offers a number of scholarships and other resources to assist young people in their pursuit of higher education. There are opportunities for everyone, including kin of wartime veterans and participants in Legion programs.

Scouting

American Legion posts sponsor more than 2,500 Scouting units across the country. This is natural for Legionnaires, who bring their service-learned skills and experiences as veterans to help build character and positive traits in our country's youth.
Post 41 now sponsors Cub Scout Pack 205 from Takoma Park. We are very proud to be part of this great scouting unit!

Junior Shooting Sports

The American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Program is a gun safety education and marksmanship program that encompasses the basic elements of safety, education, enjoyment and competition.

Junior Law Cadet

The Junior Law Cadet program provides first-hand experiences and insight into the operations of law enforcement agencies.

Children & Youth

Through a variety of internal and external programs, The American Legion Children & Youth Division strengthens families, provides services to young people, and meets the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs of our nation's youth.
